In this cabinet meeting, along with extending the lockdown period to 30 April, the Central Government has also been requested to extend the lockdown period till 30 April. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has also requested the Central Government to stop train and air services till 30 April.
Along with this, the cabinet has also decided to keep all the teaching centres in the state closed till June 17.
The area is being sealed immediately by the Odisha government from wherever the corona infected are coming across. This is the reason why a situation like mass infection has not come to the fore in the state.
However, this situation should not arise in the coming days, every possible step is being taken by the state government and administration, to prevent the spread of corona infection.
Today, Ganjam district has become an example where the said area was sealed as only one patient came. On the other hand, health check-up of people has also been started from door to door in the district.
